Only fundamentally different gets customers to tell their friends. Incrementally better never does. If your product isn't worth talking about, no amount of marketing spend will build what you're hoping to build.

Great execution multiplied by a poor strategy is a waste of everyone's time. Most people never hear about companies that got the strategy wrong — all their great execution was multiplied by zero.

Strategy isn't a vision or an aspiration. It's a coherent plan to apply your strengths in a leveraged way against a specific problem, for a specific customer, with a specific advantage. Everything else is just goal-setting.
